Love’s curse

Love is a curse burnt into our hearts. It is a knife stuck in your stomach, being twisted and turned. It breaks up your thoughts like the worst sound you’ve heard tenfold. It growls, barks and bites. Yet as all those things happen but love casts a different spell, hidden. It enchants us, leading us through trouble to endless bliss. It throws us into the sky to see if we fly or fall. We never know when love is going to afflict our minds but when it does we find it in an unexpected way, where it sneaks up on us and blinds us to everything else. Love can be more than romance though. It can be wonderful friendships and extraordinary family. But what ever love you suffer from it will always come back and bite you stronger than karma. Love is a curse no matter which kind.

Ones and Zeros

Ones and zeros. We are all code. Companies take our information, and advertise what we want to buy most. They know our habits. We are their units. We are the numbers that run their lives. Drones and cameras and hidden little bugs. They see our every move. Freedom is a concept that no one really experiences. We are governed by the rich. We are no more valuable than the information we produce. There are few that stand up and live outside the technological tyranny, but they live in the shadows. Forever dark. Everyone has a digital footprint now and once you go in, there is no escape. The web of lies is going to tangle us up and suck us dry. We are their favourite code. Ones and zeros.

High hopes come crashing down

When I was a child they told me to follow my dreams,
Because they could make them all come true,
And I believed them.

Yet when I fall asleep I often have nightmares,
But nightmares are dreams too,
I guess they forgot to tell me that.

Bandaids

Tie the noose a little bit tighter.
Cut your skin a little bit deeper.
Feed the flames a little bit further.
Drink the poison come a little closer.
Take the jump without the cord.
Jump the ship with 100 tonne weights.
Feel the pain. Brink of death.
That’s how it feels close to you.

Electricity burning me to bits.
Walls crushing me to pulp.
Every second I seem closer.
Yet every time they pull me back.

Cold metal at my throat.
Barrel pointed to my mouth.
Acid falling hits my face.
Every time on the brink of death.
Someone finds the bandaids

I don’t want bandaids.
Let me sink beneath those waves.
Let that gunshot go off.
Let the acid burn my skin.
Let that blood hit the floor.

The rope goes taut.
The blade flashes red
The night burns away
Toxic blood in my veins
I’m sick of being sore
I don’t want my heart to hurt
So let me go where there is no pain.

Because maybe, I don’t want to live anymore.

Ps. Don’t worry I’m ok ;)

Music

Music is the strongest force on earth
Music can create the strongest of loves that last forever
Music can heal the wounds created by others
Music can hurt people, help people and show people that life is amazing
Simple notes, simple words, can be the thing that brings them back from the brink
Or makes their ending easier.
Music accompanies our entire life, taken almost entirely for granted.
Little do we realise, our greatest helper and friend was made by someone who needs it just as much.
Everyone needs our tune, from the wacky to the fantastical, from orchestral masterpieces to whistling our own tune.

All this music forms our life and binds us and breaks us to others. Our strongest bond, our greatest weakness and yet people can’t appreciate it. Adults hurry and scurry. Music becomes a background and they lose what is most important to all. Even this song I listen as I write this will be forgotten one day. But even so, let your music be your greatest strength, accept it as your greatest weakness and most importantly never stop listening.

the letter

the crushing feeling of (A)...
minus
her face brightly lit behind a computer screen
'you're worthless'
'you're nothing'
oh, how the letter screams
at me
i should have
could have
didn't
do better
i have
to be better
but at the end of the day
the tears on my face
and the pit in my chest
will only get wetter
because this is who you are
this is who i am -
a letter on a screen
to summarise the ever present failures of my life's plan
'but you're young' and
'you're learning'
the silhouettes try to shout at me
but i failed
and i'm a flower that's dying
wilted in a heap.
i know i'm dramatic
and 'it's not the end of the world'
but what you don't get,
dear teacher
is that i'm still just a sensitive little girl.

Bright Yellow

Yellow loves tang and spark, a touch of chilly, a squeeze of lime, some sweetness, not too heavy, light and fresh, rice paper roles are the best.

Yellow sounds sweet and light, she loves music that is positive and bright.

Yellow skips and dances around, almost floating on the ground. She has a dress that flows while she moves, especially when she’s in a happy mood.

Yellow wants joy for all, always trying her best, but often without success.

Yellow is talented with a hoopla hoop, dancing around with her loop.

Yellow’s biggest fear is sadness and gloom, if for happiness there is no room.
