Shifting and changing

Shifting and changing,
Constantly, forever.
The currents of the world,
Sweep and flow.
A warm breeze,
An icy gale,
Shifting and changing.
Arcing volts,
Sparking amps,
Shifting and changing.
Freezing waves,
Gentle waters,
Shifting and changing,
 Constantly, forever.

Trees

A rushing wave approaches me, far of in the distance,
Yet I do not worry nor fear, for I am a mighty tree.
My roots run deep into the ground, guarding from resistance,
My limbs are stretched up to the sky, beautiful and free.

But then my air is polluted, and I begin to wheeze.
These harsh noises surround me, drowning me constantly,
All day and all night, I long to feel a cool and gentle breeze,
But not once do I see a glimpse beyond my own uncertainty.

My ground begins to shake, and cracks adorn the earth.
My roots are now upturned, my trunk twists and turns.
People waltz along, passing by celebrating in their mirth,
Yet still I sit in silence, no option but to burn.

My river, it dries up, leaving empty tracks behind.
I may cry endless tears, but they are no longer truly mine.
My body begins to wilt, I sag with restless whines,
My body, it is dying, and I am falling from the line.

Then I realise that my wave, so far of on the horizon,
Is closer now than ever before, right upon my front door.
It roars right past my body, the flood waters keep a rising,
And there is nothing I can do but be carried from my shore.

I am pulled through the water, tossed and tumbled through my life.
I am ripped every which way, and there is no end in sight.
But then a saving force pulls me from my and strife,
They take me from the waters cage, and lead me to the light.

And although I am beaten and weary, I can breathe again with ease.
My limbs stretch once more towards the sun, my trunk untwists free.
And although I have been broken, I have also been appeased,
And I know no matter what life brings, I now hold my own key.

HERE I AM

             I
           AM
AM I HERE I AM
           AM
             I

Where am I?

Where am I?
I’m not quite sure,
I’m in between,
Not really knowing where I am or, where I want to be.

Not yet an adult,
No longer a child,
At least that’s what I believe.

My childhood is gone,
Never to return,
Or am I still living in it.

Do we ever leave our childhood?
Or does it leave us?
Waving a friendly hand goodbye.

Everything is always changing,
Present becomes past.
The sun keeps on shining in the sky.

Yesterday is gone now,
It will never be back,
We can only keep memories of before.

But tomorrow holds hope,
Excitement and surprises,
Options and choices to explore.

Although I mourn for before,
Look forward to tomorrow,
I’m really living for today.

The past can’t be changed,
Tomorrow depends on this day,
It’s your choice, that’s all I will say.

Although I don’t know where I’m going,
I know where I’ve been,
And I know that I am right here.

I may not know where here is,
But I always know it’s where I am,
Only one thing is clear,

           I
         Am
Am I Here I Am
         Am
           I

Courage Can Change The World

Different types of courage can change the world.
No matter the type, set it free like a bird.

Courage can be daring, like jumping off a cliff.
Urging you forwards, it never has a rift.
The people who possess it are the daredevils in life,
Jumping and dancing, they get through their strife.

Courage can be quiet, silent by your side.
It gives you support, just not all the time.
These people are soft, hushed, yet proud.
But when they break through, the always shout loud.

Courage can be freeing, sending you forth in the world,
It shows you the way, even when you want to hurl.
It carries some people away from the dark,
Sending them forwards, able to lark.

When courage is absent, the wold stops in its tracks.
We know that it’s gone, and we give up the slack.
But when we all fight, and band together as one,
Our type of courage doesn’t matter, just that we all belong.

Courage is important, it moulds the world to its shape.
Embrace your own courage, don’t let it escape.

Life

Life is a mess,
Beautiful, yet bold.
We all do our best,
Just not always what we’re told.

Life can be rough,
Dragging our spirit down,
But we learn to be tough,
Making the Earth our playground.

Life is confusing,
It can sadden and shame.
Yet each one of us is amusing,
Because we are all not the same.

So embrace your life,
And the hardships it brings.
Because even when in strife,
You must let your spirit ring.

Candle

Life is but a tiny light,
Dancing upon a waxen pyre,
It softly burns itself away,
A subtle, hesitant fire.

Soon the tears of a crying storm,
Or a sudden, resentful gale,
May try their best to snuff it out,
For fragility is prone to fail.

But grieve not on how long it endures,
Do not fret over the tenuous flame,
For despite it’s duration life insures,
All candles end the same.

So become the light during the evening,
Scaring away shadows plenty,
Put an end to cycles of pained weeping,
And thaw the hearts of many.

Find the strength to face the woe,
And kindle someone else’s spark,
Shine brightly with a fervid glow,

Leading other’s from the dark.
