Heroes and villains

I have heroes aplenty,
People I admire and respect,
Those that daunt and inspire me.

There are also the heroes who I talk to everyday,
Who are my world and I love dearly.
Heroes I couldn’t live without.

Villains invade my beautiful world.
Those I can’t stand to be around.
The people who would love to see me fail.
The wicked, jealous, ignorant villains.
I pity them as they mustn’t have a hero of their own.
Everyone needs a hero to stop their world from falling apart.

Even though I know they aren’t worth it,
They can get under my skin after digging for long enough.
I’ve learnt to avoid them.
It’s better to avoid than become one of them.

Often I don't realise how much they have polluted my world until they have left it,
Until I feel the relief.

Heroes don’t harm the villains,
They protect the cities,
Repair the damage,
Minimise the destruction.

I’m so glad I don’t have any villains attacking me inside my head.
They are so much harder to get rid of.

Villains are seldom completely defeated,
But they do go away.
And you can rebuild your world stronger and better for it.

Sometimes I have to be my own hero.
Keep smiling.
Do my best.
Be positive.
Don’t let it get to you.

I’m always trying my hardest to be someone's hero.
Rescue them from the villains in their hearts and heads.
Because they are my heroes,
And they are worth fighting for.

My life is a beautiful blessing,
Sometimes I forget how fortunate I am.
I am so grateful for the heroes in my life,
They can protect me from the villains.

And although my heroes helped shape it,
I am the creator of my world and I also have myself to thank,
For being me,
Through thick and thin.
