A "Not So Perfect" Life

Throughout our childhoods, we are told,

that life will be perfect, if we conform to the mold.

But life isn't perfect, and nothing is fair,

we are all different, you cannot compare.

Life is messy, beautiful, and bold,

you make it your own, you don't put it on hold.

So embrace YOUR life, and the hardships it brings,

for we are all made to do different things.

The beach

Rain sprinkling my face,

Soon to storm.

Sand running through my toes,

Will rub and burn my feet.

The oceans waves are calm,

A hidden monster lies in the deep.

I step to the waves with no fear,

Welcoming the pain it has to give.

It pushes and pulls, shoves and tugs

I do not waver under its force.

Shards of shell slash at my feet.

Rain pelts down my hair.

All washes away the pain I feel.

The pain at returning to the real world.

Here at the beach, where the world wants you down

I feel my highest, my strongest.

Here at the beach, I feel at peace.
